The past few months for Tim Borowski have not been very satisfying. Injuries continually set back the 30-year-old from his daily training work. On 26 October 2010 the midfielder had to undergo ankle surgery in Munich. Fifteen days after the operation, WERDER.DE spoke with the midfielder about the healing process and his rehab.
Hello Tim, how are you doing two weeks after the operation?
Considering the circumstances, I am doing good. I don’t need the crutches any more and can walk without pain and the stitches have already been taken out. In the last couple days I have already been intensively working with the bicycle and of course I hope that I can step up the program now so that I can begin with running training again.
What does your rehab program look like? What are you allowed to do and what exercises can you already do?
Riding the bike, weight room, stabilisation exercises – all of that is possible. All of those things are in my training plan at the moment.
What have you set as a realistic goal for returning to the training grounds?
Of course my return depends heavily on the healing procedure. But I hope to return to team training within maximum three weeks. Still, an estimation is always very difficult.
