It’s been five months since Werder Bremen and Bayern Munich faced off in the German Cup final. And the two will square off already in the second round of this season’s cup on Tuesday 26 October 2010 in the Bavarian capital at 8:30 p.m.
Werder Bremen lost the cup final against Bayern 4-0 in Berlin and head coach Thomas Schaaf admitted ahead of this cup duel of the dominance his team faced in May. "In principle we were without a chance," said Schaaf. But that should be different in Munich. "We want to try and incorporate our qualities and we have already written extraordinary history in the cup – that doesn’t have to end in Munich." One thing that is certain is that the 0-0 draw between these teams on the third Bundesliga game day will not be repeated.
