The area surrounding the training grounds wasn’t the only place where there were more people Monday afternoon. With the fall school holidays drawing more spectators to the public trainings, the number of footballers on the Werder practice pitch also grew. Head coach Thomas Schaaf had 22 professionals available. And two days ahead of the Champions League away match at Twente Enschede, Schaaf even was able to welcome back another striker alongside Claudio Pizarro.
Sandro Wagner really mixed it up again. "Everything was okay. I didn’t have any problems," said the striker on his way to the dressing room. After overcoming a knee strain, Wagner also hopes to return to the Green-Whites game roster soon. But he is not expected to be in the list for the game against Twente.
