The news was good for Sandro Wagner as the 22-year-old striker, who missed the Green-Whites’ Bundesliga match on Sunday against Bayer Leverkusen with knee problems, suffered only a slight ligament sprain in his knee during the game against Inter Milan last Wednesday. That was the result of tests done Monday morning by Dr. Michael Strobel in Straubing.
"Of course I am relieved that it was nothing worse," said Wagner after the examination. "I feel good. The knee feels as if nothing happened." The fact that Wagner is being held out of training over the next couple days is solely "a precautionary measure". Wagner expects to go all out when the break is past.
