Bad news for Werder Bremen and Sebastian Boenisch as the Monday arthroscopy by Augsburg knee specialist Dr. Ulrich Boenisch determined a joint injury in the right knee of the 23-year-old right back of the Green-Whites. "Sebastian now has to go through rehab to return as quickly as possible to team training. And we will do everything possible," said Bremen team doctor Dr. Götz Dimanski. "The rehab training will take between four and six months."
"The results of the examination of course were a major blow," said Boenisch. "But the doctor told me that the intervention was necessary and that everything will heal correctly," added the Polish international, who still is positive looking forward to the future. "This injury will not kill me and I will give my all to come back even stronger." Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf was also disappointed about the injury. "We hope for Sebastian that the healing process goes well and that we have him back with us soon," said Schaaf.
