Just 75 hours after their bitter loss against Mainz, Werder Bremen will play again on Tuesday, 21 September 2010 at 8 p.m. at Hannover. On the one hand, there was "not much time to really talk a lot about things" according to head coach Thomas Schaaf. Therefore the team must meaningfully accept the critical review. "Address everything clearly and exactly and making a point. And we did that."

On the other hand, the current schedule offers an opportunity to quickly forget the negative experiences and get three points in the North Derby against Hannover. "We have to be active and go into the game with good confidence where everyone has the ability to use their skills and courageously take on their tasks," demanded Schaaf of his team.

Hannover coach Mirko Slomka does not want to overestimate Werder’s loss against Mainz. "Their roster is extraordinarily strong with diverse top players. Werder Bremen is and remains a top club in the Bundesliga. They always come back, even in enormously difficult phases," said Slomka. But a match against Hannover will not be easy. "At the moment things are not that favourable regarding points. We cannot waste too many chances – we have to correct this situation," said Schaaf. And praise from the opponents does not automatically translate to points. And no one knows that better than the Werder coach. “We cannot make amends of something. We can only do it better. Everyone must step up. There are ways how things can be better – and it’s a must that they get better."

The following 18 Werder players are on the squad for the Hannover match:

Wiese, Mielitz - Pasanen, Fritz, Silvestre, Prödl, Schmidt, Bargfrede, Borowski, Hunt, Husejinovic, Marin, Frings, Jensen, Wesley, Arnautovic, Wagner, Almeida
