Just 24 hours after scoring a goal in the German Cup against Rot Weiss Ahlen, Werder Bremen’s Marko Marin dribbled his way into the hearts of his fans late Sunday afternoon. As part of his new homepage he took part in the dribbling course Speed 4 along with a number of youth talents – a course which numerous European stars have dribbled through.
In slightly rainy condition, he impressively showed off his skills and broke the German record which Dariusz Wosz – formerly of VfL Bochum – set in 2006. Marin needed just 5.275 seconds to complete the course, bettering Wosz’s mark of 5.288 seconds.
"I wanted one of the records. I reached the German one now, but damp artificial turf and the lack of grip would not allow going after Lionel Messi’s world record. But I will keep his time in sight. I will definitely try it again," said Marin.
