TARGO BANK and Werder Bremen on Thursday prematurely extended their sponsoring contract an additional year, meaning TARGOBANK will be displayed on the club’s jersey until at least the end of the 2011-12 season and be seen in important areas of Weser Stadium in the future as well.
"The collaboration with Werder Bremen which began three years ago has clearly increased our popularity as one of the leading private customer banks," said TARGOBANK board chairman Franz Josef Nick, who travelled to the Werder business offices in Bremen for the contract signing. "Werder is the most well-like football club in Germany whose management team for years has used comparably modest means to form a team that excites fans at the national and international level with attractive football. We at TARGOBANK also rely attractive products and fairness in dealing with our 3.4 million customers. That is another reason why Werder and TARGOBANK fit so well together," said Nick.
Klaus Allofs, the Werder Bremen executive board chairman, was happy to continue the successful partnership. "How does the saying go? 'Never change a winning team.' That is the case for our team on the pitch but also our work with our main sponsor. Therefore we are very happy that we could prematurely extend the contract beyond the up-coming season," said Allofs.
