On Saturday, 07.08.2010, things will slowly be getting serious for the Green-Whites. Just one day before the 'Day of the Fans 2010', trainer Thomas Schaaf’s men will be in London for a pre-season friendly against FC Fulham. It is an opponent that can certainly be considered a genuine test ahead of Werder’s first competitive tie in the DFB Cup a week later. The Premier League club made it to the final of the UEFA Europa League in the 2009/2010 season.

The game will be held at the time honoured 'Craven Cottage' stadium, which lies on the banks of the Thames and seats 25,678 spectators. The stadium is often frequented by a very well-known celebrity fan. Actor Hugh Grant has been a fan of the club since his childhood. Right now it is unclear whether or not the predominant figure will be present on Saturday. Should he not make it to the stadium, he will have another opportunity to see the game in its entirety. WERDER.TV will show the complete game live, with a one-off demand charge of €3,99. Subscribers can of course see the highlight in Werder’s pre-season preparations free of charge.
