On Tuesday evening, just three days after the unfortunate friendly game defeat to Szombathelyi Haladás, Werder were 2-0 (0-0) winners over the Serbian first division side FK Rad Belgrade.
It took the Green-Whites until the 81st minute to finally break the deadlock and take the lead thanks to an own-goal by Pantic. Just two minutes later, Hunt was on target to make it 2-0 (83’) for Werder and put the game beyond FK Rad, who had caused some problems for the Bundesliga side but, considering the fact that the ball had struck the frame of the goal four times in the game, there is no doubt that the result of the tie could have been far more decisive.
