Captain Torsten Frings and fellow midfielder Daniel Jensen returned to team training as both Green-White veterans completed their first practice during the preparations with their team-mates. Frings, who had groin surgery about three weeks ago, said afterwards he was confident he was back. "I did everything and don't feel any pain. I assume that as of now I can stay in training," said Frings. Jensen also hopes that there are no setbacks after fighting with an Achilles tendon problem suffered at the World Cup. "I would like to remain injury-free this season and hope that today was the beginning," said Jensen.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf is looking forward to the development but wants to dampen the euphoria. "Now we have to wait and see how they handle the burden. They cannot expect too much of themselves straight away," said the coach. Naldo meanwhile ran a few laps with physiotherapist Stefan Wolters in Bad Waltersdorf. And hopes are high that Naldo can overcome his knee problems. After his program, the Brazilian watched his team-mates a little bit.
