In their second test match against a European top-flight club, Werder Bremen beat Spanish side Racing Santander 3-1 (1-0). Both teams played a good match in front of about 6,000 spectators and under optimal conditions. The Green-Whites had a number more chances in the second half.

 

The goals for Werder were scored by Claudio Pizarro (20') and the substitutes Sandro Wagner (59')and Markus Rosenberg (84'). The guests from the Primera Division pulled a goal back through Bolado (86').
