Werder Bremen have returned to training in Bremen in brutally hot temperatures with two sessions a day after coming back from the training camp on Norderney. Among those banged up players from Friday was Sandro Wagner, who was fighting with headaches and feeling weak. "It could be that he’s dealing with a slight infection. We will continue to observe it. It could be that we have to watch out a couple days," said Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf.
That is the same for a number of players, which doesn’t exactly make the coach happy. "I don’t like it at all that we have so many injured players. Surely the burden of the preparations is very heavy. But players know that and should be prepared," said Schaaf. "In the summer break which every player has, you should get rid of all the small aches. That was not entirely the case. The odd player should think about that." The coach is hoping for a shortened list of injured players for the training camp in Donaueschingen, which begins Monday. The weekend will decide if Peruvian try-out players Juan Barros and Aldo Corzo will be around for the coming weeks. "Both are good guys, who have worked well into the team and approached their tasks with a lot of motivation. We will hold some talks in the next couple days if they will stay," said Schaaf.
