Werder Bremen were victorious in their second match of the young 2010-11 season as well as the Green-Whites used a strong second half to beat the Lower Saxony Oberliga league side Kickers Emden 6-0 (1-0) in Loga.
In front of 6,412 spectators, Ayik (36’), Bargfrede (48’), Futacs (50’ – pen, 78’) as well as youngsters Thy (71’) and Testroet (89’) scored the goals for Werder.
"You could see today that we worked well the last few days. We were tired and could not do very much. Despite the burden, I would have wished a more decisive game. In the second half there was more space and we used it very well, especially the young players,” said head coach Thomas Schaaf. "It’s clear that they want to show themselves and have to prove themselves. And they did that today."
