Werder won their first test match of the 2010-11 season 6-1 (3-1) against KFC Uerdingen with new acquisitions Felix Kroos and Marko Arnautovic each scoring their first goal for the Green-Whites on Norderney. The other goals were tallied by Aaron Hunt, Sandro Wagner, Markus Rosenberg and Philipp Bargfrede. Former Werder star Ailton played 61 minutes for Uerdingen but did not score a goal. "It was a good test. Both teams played at a high tempo. We had a lot of goal chances and saw some nice goals," said Werder coach Thomas Schaaf.
