The time for the preparations for the new season is a very strenuous one for the players with little time for breaks. WERDER.DE this Sunday followed the Green-Whites step for step and found out there is no easing off on Sunday.

6:52 a.m.:

The automatic wake-up call by reception rings in the players’ rooms! It’s time to get up.

7:08 a.m.:

In the courtyard, each player picks out the bicycle with their number on it.

7:15 a.m.:

The coach gives the starting signal. It’s time to head towards the beach. Everyone was on time, the mood is good!

7:27 a.m.:

The team is standing along the water and waiting for the starting signal! It is windless – that is good and bad at the same time. There may be no headwind but there is also no tailwind. And they’re off!

8:12 a.m.:

Only a few metres left, then you could refresh yourself a bit in the water, but there are two camera teams and two photographers at the finish line. So you can’t totally relax!

9:26 a.m.:

Breakfast, reading the newspaper and then heading back up to the room. There is not a lot of time left!

11 a.m.:

The first training session on the pitch begins.

1:15 p.m.:

Lunch – that is a quiet 15 minutes. Simply relaxed eating.

1:32 p.m.:

Press talk – for one or two players it’s time to talk to the journalists.

2:10 p.m.:

Now it’s time for afternoon break. Into bed and sleeping until 4:45 p.m. and getting some more energy.

5:03 p.m.:

Back onto the bike to go to the pitch four kilometres away – second session on the grounds!

6:31 p.m.:

Did it! The last training of the day is over with. Now just get back on the bike and return to the hotel. After that it’s leisure time!
