The dream of the 2010 World Cup title is over for "Merte", Wiese, Marin and Özil as the Werder stars and the German national team bowed out of the tournament after losing to Spain 1-0 in the semi-final. After a tournament rich of highlights, Germany just missed the final. The decisive goal of a tactically-dominated game was scored by Carles Puyol for the Spaniards in the 73rd minute.

The German team will next take on Uruguay in the game for third place on Saturday in Port Elizabeth at 8:30 p.m. Spain will face the Netherlands on Sunday for the crown in Johannesburg (8:30 p.m.).
