The German Football League on Monday announced the Bundesliga schedule for the up-coming 2010-11 season. Werder Bremen will travel on the first game day to Hoffenheim. A week later, Cologne will be the first Bundesliga guests at the renovated Weser Stadium.

"It's the same question every year: Is the schedule good? Is the schedule bad? Last year we won 1-0 in Hoffenheim. That was an important game back then. And maybe we can pick up from that match this season," said Werder manager Klaus Allofs about the start of the schedule.

The Green-Whites will take on the reigning champions Bayern Munich on the third game day. On the final game day, head coach Thomas Schaaf's team will face Kaiserlautern with the promoted side coming to Bremen for the end of the first half. The North Derby with Hamburg will be played on the sixth game day with Bremen hosting the first encounter.

Head coach Thomas Schaaf doesn't really care about the order of the games. "One team, I think, will play against all 17 teams," grinned Schaaf. "I'm not really thinking too much about it. We will prepare in advance for every opponent. It's important that you take care of things yourself."

Werder's first Bundesliga matches in 2010-11:

1st game day: 21-22 August 2010: Hoffenheim vs. SV Werder Bremen

2nd game day: 27-29 August 2010: SV Werder Bremen vs. Cologne

3rd game day: 10-12 September 2010: Bayern Munich vs. SV Werder Bremen

4th game day: 17-19 September 2010: SV Werder Bremen vs. Mainz

5th game day: 21-22 September 2010: Hannover 96 vs. SV Werder Bremen

6th game day: 24-26 September 2010: SV Werder Bremen vs. Hamburg

The exact dates and times of the individual game days will be announced in the coming weeks by the DFL.
