The German national team easily won their World Cup warm-up against Hungary 3-0 (1-0) in Budapest. Werder players Mesut Özil and Per Mertesacker started the game and Marko Marin was subbed in after 62 minutes for Piotr Trochowski. And Marin impressed with a number of good actions, displaying his skills in hopes of making the German 23-man World Cup roster.

 

The Germans dominated the game with the goals being scored by Lukas Podolski (4’, penalty), Mario Gomez (69’) and Cacau (72’). Prior to their departure for South Africa, the German team will have a friendly on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in Frankfurt against Bosnia-Herzegovnina.
