Werder Bremen players Thursday morning completed their final training session of the 2009-10 season. For those Werder players not at the World Cup in South Africa, they now have time to head into holidays, heal their wounds and get ready for the coming 2010-11 season.
Defender Naldo did not waste any time, boarding an airplane to his homeland Brazil already on Thursday. The 27-year-old has since overcome not being nominated for the Brazilian World Cup squad. "I am not thinking about that anymore. Now I am happy about the holidays. And after that all my concentration will be on the time in July and in August when things start up again with Werder!" said Naldo.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf had some well wishes for his players on their way. "I hope that the players can relax and all stay fit," said Schaaf, who gave them all individual training plans, which the coaching staff does every year. "We are after all not an amateur club," said Schaaf with a grin.
