Werder Bremen extended their contracts with head coach Thomas Schaaf’s coaching staff. The new deals for assistant coaches Wolfgang Rolff and Matthias Hönerbach as well as goalkeeper coach Michael Kraft and fitness coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel were extended until 2012.

"I am happy that we can continue our successful work with this team," said Schaaf about the contract extensions. The former German international Wolfgang Rolff has been part of Werder’s coaching team since 2004. He was followed into the team by Matthias Hönerbach in 2005 and Michael Kraft became keeper coach in 2006. The youngest member of the group, Yann-Benjamin Kugel, arrived in 2008.
