The North Derby is right around the corner! Saturday will be the last game day of the 2009-10 season with Werder playing their decisive match for third place at Weser Stadium. As usual, WERDER.DE and OptaSportdaten present all the important facts about the game. Have fun!

• The 34th game day in Bremen will see the 92nd North Derby in the Bundesliga – it is the most-played game in league history.

• With a victory, Werder Bremen would secure a spot in the qualification for the Champions League for the 2010-11 season and Hamburg would not participate in any European competition.

• If Bremen finish the season with the most goals scored (currently 70), they would be the league’s top scoring offense in five of the last seven years.

• Bremen’s 15 goals scored on headers is second in the league to Schalke (17) and Werder have only allowed five goals in the air – the fewest in the Bundesliga. Hamburg meanwhile has given up the most header goals in the league with 14.

• Claudio Pizarro has scored his most goals against Hamburg – the Peruvian has netted home 11 goals against Hamburg (equal to his tally against Wolfsburg).

• Frank Rost, the Bundesliga’s all-time leader in games played (395) made his first Bundesliga appearance nearly 15 years ago in a Werder jersey.
