There is no sense of nervousness for Werder Bremen ahead of their showdown at Schalke. "We are looking forward to this one - for us, it's an unbelievably positive story," said Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf ahead of the final stretch of the season and the match at Schalke on Saturday. "We have the full attention of the public. I love this kind of story," said the grinning coach.

The only player missing from training on Thursday was Petri Pasanen. The Finnish international was out sick and with an eye inflammation. The coaching staff will have to wait and see how he recovers. Back at training was Aaron Hunt, who apparently has healed from his thigh problems. Sandro Wanger could be coming up on his first appearance with the Bundesliga side. The striker did not travel with the U23s away match at Munich, as opposed to Sebastian Mielitz, who once again will replace Felix Wiedwald on the bench.
