Some 250 spectators enjoyed the beautiful spring weather by taking in Werder Bremen’s training on Tuesday. And they saw a team fresh and lively coming off their 4-0 victory over Freiburg.
Still missing from the side were goalkeepers Sebastian Mielitz, who is labouring with a knee injury, and Christian Vander, who still is fighting with the effects of a pelvic inflammation. Replacing them at training was Michael Jürgen, the goalkeeper coach for the U23 team. The other two healthy backup keepers to Tim Wiese – Felix Wiedwald and Sebastian Patzler – were in action at the U23 team’s third division match.
Also missing from training was Said Husejinovic, who is dealing with a strained muscle. Aaron Hunt, Sebastian Prödl and Markus Rosenberg meanwhile were out due to the rotational sports medical check-up. Naldo however returned to training after banging knees over the weekend and completed the entire practice session.
