Tim Borowski has fully recovered from his week with the grippe and returned to team training on Thursday. The midfielder announced a clean bill of health after the Thursday afternoon session. "I have no problems. Everything is back in order," said Borowski. On his way back to being fit is Sebastian Mielitz as the keeper is slowly coming back from a knee muscle strain. "I would like to do more because I feel good. But I have to have some patience," said Mielitz, who completed only a light running session on Thursday.

Patience is also the key word for Sandro Wagner, who made his debut Wednesday evening in the 3-0 loss against Eintracht Braunschweig. The main positive was that his first test under competitive circumstances since his knee surgery did not cause any problems. He was able to train again with the professional side in the afternoon.

Head coach Thomas Schaaf, who was among the spectators at the third division game against Braunschweig, assessed the situation for the striker as followed: "For him he has to slowly get back into things. The goal is that Sandro is available to us during this season. But the game against Freiburg is still too early for him. Whether or not he will play more games with the U23 side will have to be discussed with coach Thomas Wolter," said Schaaf.
