Werder fans have voted and selected Diego’s goal to make it 3-1 against Alemannia Aachen in April 2007 as the best Bundesliga goal in Werder Bremen’s history. In stoppage time, the Brazilian star snatched a ball after a free kick and launched a long high blast from 62.6 meters (over 68 yards) over Aachen keeper Kristian Nicht, who had gone forward on the free kick. Still it is the furthest distance for a goal in Bundesliga history. Diego received 41 percent of the 12,311 votes entered.
