Goalkeeper Tim Wiese will stand between the posts for Werder Bremen in their important Bundesliga showdown at Borussia Dortmund as the German international gave his green light after Friday's final training. "I feel a light bonding where the bruise was on my calf. But it doesn't disturb me. I am ready to play. And I can also take the goal kicks," said the 28-year-old Wiese. The backup keeper for the game will be U23 keeper Felix Wiedwald.
Danish international Daniel Jensen can also be happy about a return to the game roster. The midfielder will replace Tim Borowski, who could not train on Friday because of a grippe and will miss the weekend. Jensen believes he has a chance to play in Dortmund. "First I have to see if I am available for an appearance. I would definitely not say 'No'," said the veteran who has missed the last two games. "That is football. I have tried to use my time constructively, strengthening my injured foot. And I can sense that it is better. If I feel healthy then I will show that I can be used," said Jensen.
All told, head coach Thomas Schaaf only had 18 players available for Friday afternoon training. Captain Torsten Frings and striker talent Marko Futacs, who also trained, are not eligible to play due to red cards against Nurnberg and Jena, respectively.
The following 18-man roster will be making the trip with the train to Dortmund on Friday afternoon: Wiese, Wiedwald, Pasanen, Mertesacker, Naldo, Prödl, Fritz, Bargfrede, Hunt, Özil, Marin, Almeida, Pizarro, Rosenberg, Husejinovic, Boenisch, Abdennour, Jensen.
