Werder Bremen's opponent in the German Cup final on 15 May 2010 in Berlin's Olympic Stadium is set after Bayern Munich beat Schalke 1-0. And the opinions looking forward to the classic showdown were unanimous. "We are expecting a great game. The spectators will experience a huge party," said Werder's former Bayern striker Claudio Pizarro, who played in three German Cup finals with Munich and scored two goals.
Tim Borowski is also looking forward to the encounter against his former club. "This North-South classic is an absolute highlight for the fans," said Borowski. Bremen captain Torsten Frings sees the roles clearly heading into the final. "Bayern head into the game as favourites. It's nice to play against such a team in the final," said Frings. "We have to show everything we have in Berlin. We have to call up our entire potential and play our top game. We also have players in our team who can do some extraordinary things. We have to concentrate on our abilities. Then it will be a great evening," added Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf.
