German international Aaron Hunt will remain with the Green-Whites for four more years. The 23-year-old midfielder, who has been with Werder Bremen since 2001, prematurely extended his contract on Wednesday until 30 June 2014. Werder manager Klaus Allofs was happy about extending the deal, which was to run out at season’s end. "We are excited that Aaron decided to stay with Werder. And we are sure that he will have more appearances for the German national team," said Allofs.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf welcomed the result of the contract negotiations. "Aaron Hunt has had an excellent development over the past few months with Werder Bremen. And I am really happy that he wants to continue his way with us. I am absolutely convinced that his development with us is not yet complete. And I know that he still wants to achieve more with Werder," said Schaaf.
Hunt, himself, was pleased with putting pen to paper. "Werder is and will remain my sporting home. I feel very welcome in Bremen and would like to continue my way here in the next few years. And I see good conditions for that," said Hunt.
