Werder Bremen’s future between the posts is secured. After Sebastian Mielitz, youth keeper Felix Wiedwalk also has extended his contract with Werder Bremen until 2012. It is the first professional contract with the Green-Whites for the 19-year-old. "Of course this means a lot for me. I have been with Werder for 11 years and becoming a professional has always been my goal," said Wiedwald.
Felix Wiedwald transferred to Werder Bremen when he was 9 years old. He worked his way through various youth teams within the Green-Whites’ system, including winning the Northern Germany championships with the U15 and U19 teams. And he made his debut with the Bremen U23 team in their 2-2 draw in Jena and has since played five further matches with the team. In addition, he played for the German U20 national team in November for the first time in the 2-2 draw against Austria.
