Werder’s No. 44 is back on the pitch as Philipp Bargfrede was able to train again with his teammates Monday afternoon. After recovering from an injured knee, the 20-year-old admitted he was happy about his return to the pitch. "The session was good. It was fun being back on the pitch. I don’t have any more pain and I hope that I can move forward now," said Bargfrede. The midfielder made clear that he will work step by step to return to the line-up.
Another Bremen player making his first steps back to the Werder training grounds was Sandro Wagner. The attacker, who was added during the winter break, has finished his rehab and returned to Bremen Tuesday evening. He is still working on coming back from his torn knee ligament. The 22-year-old is working out individually with fitness coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel as is Sebastian Boenisch. Clemens Fritz meanwhile could not take part in the Green-Whites’ training after the right back was struck in the left knee during the Hannover match and needed treatment on Monday. "I have a slight bruise and therefore wanted to give the knee some rest. But I hope that I can get back into training already tomorrow," said the 29-year-old.
