Just hours after their German Cup victory over Hoffenheim, Werder players were back on the training grounds in the morning. Those players who did not play or played less than one half during the previous evening trained on Wednesday despite heavy snow while the other players showed up at Weser Stadium as usual for light running and health support.

There remains hope that Tim Wiese will be able to guard the Green-Whites’ goal on the weekend. The German international discussed his injury in the morning. "Even before the game I had some problems with my back but I was able to play with a warm patch. I guess it was a strain so I have to have some treatment for now," said Wiese, who was uncertain when he would return to team training. "I will try to train again on Friday. And if everything goes well I should be there on Saturday," said Wiese.

Another Werder player was back on the pitch in the morning after missing more than two weeks injured – Daniel Jensen. The Danish international completed an individual training along with Philipp Bargfrede away from their teammates. And Jensen sounded positive afterwards. "It went pretty good. I feel better again," said Jensen, who has been struggling with a number of foot problems in the last couple weeks. "I have already worked in the gym the last couple days and was able to get out onto the grass for the first time again."

Sebastian Prödl, who is currently out with a gastro-intestinal infection, was missing from training on Wednesday as was Sebastian Boenisch. Bremen’s next training session takes place on Thursday, 11 February 2010 at 3 p.m.
