Werder Bremen have terminated their contract with Dusko Tosic. That was the result of negotiations with the Serbian on Monday night as confirmed by manager Klaus Allofs. Werder ended their relationship with Tosic, who only appeared in 22 Bundesliga matches since his arrival in 2007. "After another bout of misconduct in the last couple of days we are happy this chapter is closed. We have never experienced a player acting that way," said the Werder manager.
Tosic made invalid an already agreed upon loan deal with second division club MSV Duisburg. "The player assured us and his agent of his transfer on loan to Duisburg. And then in the evening (on Sunday) he did not show up in Duisburg as agreed upon," said Allofs, who on Monday morning was still able to reach an agreement with Duisburg officials on a transfer package of Sandro Wagner/Kevin Schindler.
After Tosic failed on his own to present himself to an interested club in the English Premier League on Monday, talks followed with Werder about an immediate contract termination.
Dusko Tosic is with immediate effect no longer a player with Werder Bremen and is free to look for a club on his own.
