Werder Bremen will be making the trip to Mönchengladbach with Claudio Pizarro as head coach Thomas Schaaf announced Thursday at the final press conference before the away match at Borussia Mönchengladbach. "We are happy that we have him back again and he is available again," said Schaaf.

But the coach will have to do without Daniel Jensen. "Daniel's status has improved. But we could not find a situation which satisfies us. He has problems running and has not developed the necessary speed," said the Bremen coach about the injury of the 30-year-old Jensen. Schaaf could not say when Jensen would return to the team. "We do not know yet if it's a short-term thing. We will try to remedy it as quickly as possible," said Jensen.

Marko Marin is one Werder player who is especially looking forward to the game at Borussia Park since he wore the Mönchengladbach jersey from 2006 until the end of last season. Schaaf answered questions from journalists about the development of the 20-year-old midfielder. "Naturally we are very happy about the performances he has had thus far. Without a doubt he possesses great talent, which he will certainly attempt to prove again on Saturday. There were some critics ahead of time, questioning his talent. But he has worked his way into the team and earned his team's respect with his personality. He has played in all the games and he can be proud of that," said Schaaf. And the 48-year-old coach sees a potential for improvement for the dribbling artist. "I believe that he can still show more dominance and that more can be expected of him," said Schaaf.

The Werder team will be travelling to Mönchengladbach after the final training on Friday, 29 January 2010 at 1 p.m. Some 3,000 Green-White supporters are expected in Borussia Park.
