Aaron Hunt was scheduled to travel to the German national team yesterday for a fitness test. But the Bremen player, who missed Sunday morning training for the Green-Whites, contacted German national team coach Joachim Löw to say he would not be coming due to a gastro-intestinal infection. "We have to wait and see how things are," said Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf about a return of the 23-year-old Hunt. That meant four Werder players - Tim Wiese, Per Mertesacker, Marko Marin and Mesut Özil - travelled to their German national teammates in Stuttgart, where they will train until Tuesday evening.
Coach Schaaf also remained in Bremen and is not travelling to Monday's planned meeting of the Bundesliga coaches in Stuttgart. "I will not be going there. I have enough to do here," said the 48-year-old.
The Green-Whites' next training session will take place Monday afternoon at 3 p.m.
