120.7 million euros: Werder Bremen notched a record turnover for the fifth year in a row. The Werder Bremen limited partnership with a limited liability company as general partner have generated a record turnover for the fifth time in its fifth year of existence. The Green-Whites had sales of 120.7 million euros for the business year ending on 30 June 2009. "That is especially the result of a very long, successful way of our team through the cup competitions," said board chairman Klaus Allofs in his report during the general meeting of SV Werder von 1899 e.V. in the Werder Hall on Hemelinger Straße in Bremen.
Allofs also was able to announce a positive in the earnings report of the Green-Whites’ limited liability company. Bremen’s earnings of 6.2 million euros nearly reached their record from 2007 (8.3 million euros), which was helped by some 5 million euros from special payments from the football World Cup and the Kirch bankruptcy. "On our own, we were more successful this year," said Allofs. The manager also assured that the personnel changes in the Board of Directors through the parting of former executive Jürgen L. Born and the up-coming replacement of Manfred Müller for Klaus Filbry will not change Werder’s business philosophy. "We have provided some very strong figures and we will continue to act responsibly in the new personnel situation. Werder Bremen are without debt and should remain so. We want to achieve our sporting success also in the future through Hanseatic economic activity," said Allofs.
