The Bundesliga break is coming to an end with the Freiburg match right around the corner. And Werder's international players all returned to Bremen on Thursday. "Those who were under way with their national teams have returned healthy," said head coach Thomas Schaaf at the final press conference before the Green-Whites' away match. The coach also announced that Claudio Pizarro, Christian Vander and Tim Borowski would be out against Freiburg. "They will definitely not play," said Schaaf.
"There are still small chances for both Peter Niemeyer and Torsten Frings on Saturday," said the 48-year-old Werder coach. It will be not certain about their availability until after Friday's final training. Back in Bremen are Daniel Jensen and Markus Rosenberg, the latter who took part in regular training on Thursday after his short appearance for the Swedish national team. Jensen meanwhile completed only an individual workout after the 30-year-old Danish international collected some game experience for the Bundesliga. "These kinds of appearances bring me a step further. Of course after a long-term injury I cannot be 100 percent. But I am on a good road there. I am working hard on myself and I hope to take a step forward in the next couple Bundesliga games," said Jensen.
