"I still have a little fear and first have to get used to it. Otherwise, I don’t have any more problems," said Marcelo Moreno after journalists asked him how it feels to train wearing a mask. The Bolivian striker returned to team training on Monday after missing nearly two and a half weeks injured after breaking his cheekbone in the Green-Whites’ German Cup game against Kaiserslautern.
Centre back Naldo remained on the bench during the Brazilian national team’s test match against England last weekend. The reason was that the 27-year-old was suffering from adductor problems. Werder head coach Thomas Schaaf eased concerns on Monday. "The problems are over with, and Naldo trained again today," said Schaaf, who can hardly afford seeing another key player miss time injured at the moment. Naldo is currently preparing with Brazil for the friendly against Oman on Tuesday 17 November 2009 in Muscat.
And Schaaf said the conditions of Claudio Pizarro, Torsten Frings, Peter Niemeyer and Tim Borowski were all "unchanged". And the coach did not know yet if any of these players would be available for the away match in Freiburg on Saturday. "I can’t say anything about that. We have to wait for the next couple days," said Schaaf.
The Green-Whites’ next training session takes place Tuesday, 17 November 2009 at 10 a.m.
