Werder Bremen striker Markus Rosenberg has once again been included in the roster for the Swedish national team as Sweden's new national team Erik Hamren officially confirmed his nomination for the up-coming friendly against Italy on 18 November 2009 in Cesena.
Besides Rosenberg, also on the Swedes' 24-member roster is Hamburg striker Marcus Berg as a second player from the Bundesliga. The game will be the first for Hamren, who took over for Lars Lagerbäck at the beginning of the month. The Swedish federation announced that he will have a double function until August 2010, when he will step down from his post as head coach of Norwegian champions Rosenborg Trondheim.
Markus Rosenberg has another chance to step into the spotlight as Sweden's superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic has announced he was stepping away from the national team. Besides Rosenberg, there are four other strikers on Hamren's squad as the Werder attacker will battle Johan Elmander, Ola Toivonen, Pontus Wernbloom and Marcus Berg for a starting spot.
