No one with Werder Bremen was really satisfied after playing to a 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund on Sunday night at Weser Stadium. "The situation of course is not easy. But we cannot be satisfied with the draw. You always want to win at home," said Werder's to-be German international Aaron Hunt. "We left two points here and didn't use the chance to create some space on Hamburg. Dortmund just did more in the second half. We were not able to fend them off. I really don't know why that is," said the 23-year-old Hunt. "Maybe a 2-0 lead would have saved us because Dortmund may not have believed in turning the game around," said Werder manager Klaus Allofs.
Tim Wiese was again very strong in goal for his team and he was satisfied with gaining a point. "Everyone fought today and it's good that we did not lose. You could see today that our batteries are empty. We have to use the time off and regain some strength," said the Werder keeper. Bremen head coach Thomas Schaaf only partially agreed with Wiese. "The game had everything that makes football interesting. Both teams played at a high tempo," said Schaaf, who did not think his Green-Whites lacked energy in the second half. "We played just as intensive after the break as before it. But we lacked the serenity. We were missing the clear actions. Therefore we can be satisfied with one point," added Schaaf. The coach also fended away questions about the burden on his players. "It will not be better when I talk about it in 15 days. The burden is there and we have to be prepared for it. We are spreading out our program and everyone can deal with it," said the coach.
