Marko Marin had a bit of a bad conscious sitting next to head coach Thomas Schaaf as the team representative in front of media at the final press conference ahead of the home game against Austria Vienna. Of course the team's performance two weeks ago in the Austrian capital was subject matter as it was not exactly one of the highlights of the Green-Whites' current 17-game undefeated streak. With his coach at his side, the attacking midfielder assured improvement. "That was bitter in Vienna when we allowed the equaliser. We were just not very good how we played. But we want to make amends for that tomorrow," said Marin, glancing at his coach.

Marin finished with: "If we win then we have 10 points and are in a good position. Maybe we are through already too. That is a goal of ours." The coach was happy to hear those words and emphasised that actions now have to follow those words. "We saw that it was not enough to show off our potential just a few minutes. We have to consistently show our ability over the entire game," said Schaaf. Possibly making comebacks on Thursday could be three long-time injured players. After Wednesday's final training it was clear that Sebastian Prödl, Hugo Almeida and Daniel Jensen are ready again for the Green-Whites. And for the Austrian Prödl, the nomination after a long injury break is a special step. "I have trained for a week now and am feeling better all the time. Now I hope that I can make the jump into the game. That it is happening now, against Austria, of course makes me really happy," said Prödl.

Thomas Schaaf has nominated the following 17 players for the game against Austria Vienna: Wiese, Vander, Pasanen, Boenisch, Mertesacker, Fritz, Bargfrede, Borowski, Niemeyer, Hunt, Jensen, Prödl, Marin, Özil, Rosenberg, Almeida, Naldo.
