The result reads classy. Werder Bremen extended their impressive undefeated streak to 15 games with a 4-1 victory at Bochum. But one player was not quite as happy afterwards. Werder keeper Tim Wiese had to reach behind him just 38 seconds into the game – a feeling he had not had in the Bundesliga for 619 minutes. His scoreless streak had ended, just 22 minutes from overtaking Oliver Reck for the club record for longest stretch without a goal allowed. And the number one Green-White keeper was a bit disappointed after the game. "I was of course extremely aggravated because I am sure I could have extended the streak had it not been for the first minute," said Wiese.

Despite the 4-1 final result, head coach Thomas Schaaf would have rather had a quieter evening. "I wish we could have had a quieter, more convincing game – especially at the beginning. We allowed them to do quite a lot. Bochum were very excited right from the start and really attacked courageously. But it says something about this team that it got back into the game. And thank God, we were able to turn the game around. Those are important points for us," said Schaaf.

Werder left back Sebastian Boenisch meanwhile was not free of self-criticism. "We had planned on doing a lot, especially watching out in the back better than we did in Vienna. And that did not work out at the start. But that makes it all the more impressive that we still went ahead in the first half," said Boenisch. Wiese also took the chance to look forward, despite his streak being snapped. "Well, I already have 89 minutes without allowing a goal," joked the Bremen keeper.
