There was good news on Friday as both Sebastian Prödl and Hugo Almeida were able to return to team training after missing extended periods to time with injuries. After a number of individual workouts over the past days and weeks, both players practiced with those Werder players who did not play at least a full half in the Europa League game at Austria Vienna. The other players went though a light running and recovery program.
Sebastian Prödl said he was satisfied with the training but added that an end to his individual sessions is not yet in sight. "Training was good but the therapy and extra trainings are not over with. Later today I will go through another individual workout," said Prödl.
Things were similar for Hugo Almeida, who was able to score a couple goals in training on Friday. "I feel good and I don't have any more pain. Now I need practice, practice and more practice to get back into rhythm," said the Portuguese striker.
