Tim Borowski returned to team training on Monday after a break of more than three weeks and numerous individual workouts following a back injury from the Bundesliga match against Mainz.
And the 29-year-old is expected to play on Thursday in the Europa League away match in Vienna. "I didn't really train here for the first time today. I have been working really intensively the last few days," said Borowski. "I have a good feeling. Of course I have to see how the back responds. But I don't see any danger that something will happen." Head coach Thomas Schaaf meanwhile was a bit more reserved, saying: "I cannot really say anything for certain about Tim. But what I saw was pretty good. Now we have to see how things develop tomorrow."
Jensen injures shoulder
Another Werder player meanwhile was missing from the Green-Whites' training pitch on Monday as Daniel Jensen dealt with a shoulder injury, according to coach Schaaf. "We have to look at see exactly what happened," said Schaaf about the 30-year-old Jensen. Petri Pasanen for his part was able to return to team training after recovering from his cold infection.
The Green-Whites' next training session takes place on Tuesday, 20 October 2009 at 3:30 p.m.
