Werder Bremen striker Marko Futacs and the Hungarian national team have reached the semi-finals of the U20 World Cup in Egypt as they knocked off Italy 3-2 after extra time. Futacs started the game on the bench but was subbed in for defender Mate Kiss in the 87th minute.

 

Hungary will face off against Ghana in the semi-finals on Tuesday 13 October 2009 at 4:30 p.m. in Cairo. The Africans beat South Korea 3-2 in the quarter-finals to remain undefeated in the tournament. Ghana’s top star is Dominic Adiyiah, who is leading the tournament in scoring with six goals in five matches.
