Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf has warned his team from underestimating their next opponent Hanover on Sunday 13 September 2009 at 5:30 p.m. in Weser Stadium. Hanover may be in 13th place in the Bundesliga and have already fired their coach Dieter Hecking, but Schaaf sent out a warning. "We saw in our observations that plenty of good things can happen for them," said the coach. "There is no reason to underestimate Hanover."
Hanover have already shown improvements under new coach Andreas Bergmann, who received a contract until the end of the season. The club played well despite an unlucky defeat at home against Hoffenheim on the most recent game day. But Hanover will be without goalkeeper Robert Enke in Weser Stadium as the German national team keeper is suffering from a confusing bodily weakness. The 32-year-old is currently undergoing blood tests at a Hamburg tropical institute.
Hanover have been weeks and even months without integrals parts of their team, including former Werder player Leon Andreasen (adductors), Mike Hanke (knee problems) and Jan Schlaudraff (groin pain). Still, Hanover definitely want to take home one point from Weser Stadium. "We are travelling to Bremen to take our chances," said Hanover coach Bergmann.
