Short tournament: Werder play Sunday at 2 p.m.

One day after gaining a point in their 1-1 draw at Bayern Munich Saturday afternoon, Werder Bremen’s professional team will travel on to Stahnsdorf where the Citibank friendly tournament will be played on Sunday, 16 August 2009. As part of this tourney, Thomas Schaaf’s team face off against RSV Eintracht at 2 p.m. The winner of that match will play against the winner of the game between Hermsdorf and BFC Preussen at 3 p.m. The showdown between the two Berlin amateur league sides begins at 1 p.m. Each game lasts 45 minutes.

 

The following 22 players are expected to travel on Sunday to Stahnsdorf: Wiese, Vander, Boenisch, Pasanen, Tosic, Borowski, Vranjes, Fritz, Marin, Özil, Hunt, Prödl, Husejinovic, Sanogo, Frings, Almeida, Niemeyer, Mertesacker, Futacs, Harnik, Moreno, Bargfrede.
