Werder Bremen defender Naldo once again missed team training on Wednesday morning. "I still have a little pain," said the Brazilian, who is labouring with a pulled thigh tendon. Looking ahead to this weekend’s top showdown against Bayern Munich, Naldo was unable to say if he would play. "It’s difficult. If I still have pain then I can’t. But if I am pain-free, then I should be able to. We have to wait until tomorrow and the day after to see what the doctor says," said Naldo on Wednesday.
Even if the 26-year-old cannot return until Friday’s final training, Naldo still hopes for a nomination for the Bayern contest. "I could go with one day of training," said the defender. The Brazilian is currently undergoing a special care program including massages and acupuncture treatment.
Head coach Thomas Schaaf said that just like with Naldo, there is no change in the status of Sebastian Boenisch. It remains questionable if either defender can play this weekend. It also remains a question mark when Daniel Jensen and Markus Rosenberg can return to team training.
