Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf asked all of his available players not on international duty to two training sessions. Martin Harnik returned to training on Tuesday for both sessions after taking a hit on his shinbone in training Monday and missing the final minutes of the training game. "It hurt quite a bit yesterday in the first moments but I only left training because it would not have lasted more than another five minutes. Otherwise I would have come back in. In our warm downs I was back and I didn’t have any more problems," said the 22-year-old.

Still not back in team training were the injured Markus Rosenberg and Daniel Jensen as well as the banged up defenders Naldo and Sebastian Boenisch. Rosenberg and Jensen were able to complete a light running and rehab program with fitness coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel. "Naldo is not yet far enough to be back today. Maybe tomorrow or the day after he’ll be ready," said Schaaf. But the coach did say that the Brazilian would be ready for Werder’s top showdown against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Just like Naldo (a pulled thigh tendon), U21 European champion Sebastian Boenisch (back) also had to miss out on both team trainings on Tuesday. "With him, it’s similar to like with Naldo. But it has gotten a little bit better. But there is still some pain there," said Schaaf.
