The scheduled test match between Werder Bremen and West Ham United was cancelled on Saturday due to an unplayable pitch following steady heavy rainstorms throughout the morning in Bad Waltersdorf, Austria. Werder manager Klaus Allofs and coach Thomas Schaaf agreed to cancel the match after talks with organisers and heads of West Ham United. Instead, Werder players completed running drills in the evening.
